Because
of the size of our terrain we split it into three parts. We build a fence around
the first part hoping that it will keep out some unwanted animals.
Click on each part of the image to find more
information about our plans and progress. This information is located in the
lower section of this page.
On the next page you find some impressions of
the metamorphose of the garden. |

Phase 1 |
|
|
We immediately
start working on the garden around our <fermette>. At the day of
purchase we buy wooden posts. We build a fence around this part of the garden
hoping it will keep most unwanted animals out.
In February the soil is not too dry. We drill a
hole into the clay and using a sledge hammer the posts are put in place. Read more about Phase 1. |

Phase 2 |
|
|
Only when a neighbour farmer cuts
the grass we see the full size of our garden.
On the south side we will have
a vineyard with apples, pears, cherries and peaches.
Next to it we plan our future kitchen garden,
but we also reserve some space for a swimming pool...
More to the right (to the north) we will have
bushes and trees. |

Fase 3 |
|
|
In this
part of the garden we want to have a small camp site. It
should be really simple: five or six places with some trees
and bushes. It will not be before 2007 that we start working
on it and then it will have to grow, because now there is
not any shadow.
The entrance to the camp site will be next to
our future parking area. |

Parkeerplaatsen |
|
|
Behind the pigs stable we plan a few parking
places. We will also store
our wood there.
We will have to dig out the
ground (approximately 20 cm) over an area of 40 mē. Then it will be
filled with gravel. We think we may need about 20 tons. |
