These hail stones were already partially melted.
When we arrive our neighbour helps
replacing the damaged roof tiles.
On June 24th we get an SMS from our neighbours in France: please contact us because of damage caused by hail!
That same evening I came back from work in France and was in the middle of some heavy weather myself. Ten minutes after I left the office I was wet through. Versailles' streets were flooded and I had to walk through the water in a tunnel to reach the train station. I did not consider that the same heavy weather passed Allier as well.
Our neighbours report and broken roof tile on the house - not too bad. But the caravan has more damage. The large roof window is broken, as well as the front window. The plating is full of buts; the hail storm had been huge. Later on we receive pictures from the hail. Five stones fill one hand!
The impact on the caravan had been enormous. We see it when we arrive early July.
Luckily we are insured because the total repair costs exceeded € 5200,-.
Also the garden looks sad. Our young plants are partially
destroyed and what's left only has a quarter of its leaves.
This will require a lot of attention.
